Astronautical engineering student finishes the Los Angeles Marathon

March 04, 2007

Kristina Rojdev, a graduate student in the Astronautics and Space Technology Division was the first student of astronautical engineering at USC who successfully completed the 22nd Los Angeles marathon on March 04, 2007.

Here is how she describes her experience:

"26.2…I did it!  This marathon was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done.  The training was long, tiring, and brutal at times, but it was all worth it in the end.  The marathon was, honestly, long and painful, but it was still a blast!  There was so much entertainment along the way, and the people running alongside me were amazing!  But, I think the best part was the fans.  Without my friends cheering me on, it would have been much harder for me to finish.  I thank them for all their support throughout the training and during the marathon.  Now that it’s all over, I’m glad that I did it.  It was a great challenge and it showed me what I am made of.
