Southern California Astronautics Enterprise (SCAE)


Students participating in ASTE's Student Projects form a USC-recognized organization called "Southern California Astronautics Enterprise". The purpose of this organization is to explore and promote academic and career issues related to the field of astronautics and space technology, and to help those interested in the field to get to know one another better outside the classroom and laboratory.

A number of services are available to the recognized student organizations through Campus Activities. (Recognized student organizations are all student organizations that are formed by currently enrolled students sharing a common goal or interest and have properly completed the necessary forms on time and agreed to adhere to guidelines established by the University.) Campus Activities (CA) is a department within the Division of
Student Affairs. The purpose of this department is to work with students and student organizations to provide students, faculty, staff, and the community with high quality educational, cultural, recreational, and social programs.

Additionally, CA is dedicated to the positive development and growth of all students and is committed to working with and for all students and student organizations. Some services offered by Campus Activities are:

      a one-on-one assistance to student organizations
      b student organization recognition process
      c advising student organizations throughout the year
      d conducting seminars and workshops on various topics of interest
      e retreat planning and facilitation
      f  team building activities and facilitation
      g adventure-based activities/retreats
      h maintaining a resource library of books and articles relevant to student organizations
      i  quick reference handouts and worksheets
      j individual consulting on specific needs of student leaders and organizations
      k assisting students with ways to get involved on campus
      l provide paint and poster supplies for advertising events
 
All recognized student organizations can:

      a post flyers on campus
      b have a mailbox in Topping Student Center if requested
      c reserve rooms and other facilities for meetings, social events, fundraisers, and other programs
      d have an organization email address and website
      e apply for funding from all funding boards
      f  utilize the student organization listserv to publicize their organization and events
      g receive mailing labels once a year for a predetermined group of students
      h use of the logo and trademark of the University
      i  utilize the staff and resources of Campus Activities
      j access to USC Credit Union
      k use the Trojan Info Center  to advertise events
