Change of Major

Eligibility: You must complete your first semester at USC with a minimum 3.0 GPA before you can change your major.

Steps to Change Your Major to ASTE:

  1. Contact advisor who oversees the designated graduate population you plan on switching into.
  2. Complete the Change of Major Form: the Change of Major Form: fill out top three lines and the information you are aware of in Section 1.
  3. Submit the form via email to the graduate advisor, along with the major you wish to change to.

Switching to Another Department:
If you want to switch your major from ASTE to another department, contact the respective Viterbi department’s graduate advisor directly.

Registration Process

Students register for their courses through an online tool called Web Registration. For more support on registration, please visit the Registrar's website.

Courses offered every semester are viewable on the Schedule of Classes.

Every semester, there is a deadline to register for classes and settle your bill without accruing a late fee. Please be enrolled in atleast one course before this deadline. Note that it is possible to change your schedule after this date. For more information about deadlines, please visit the Academic Calendar.

Sometimes courses require approval before you are able to register for the course. To learn more about the different approvals please review the processes below.

myViterbi
